SUMMARY:
The Lead Advanced Practice Provider (APP) performs comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, orders, conducts, supervises, interprets diagnostic and laboratory tests, and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness in care of the critically ill patient. Promotes health and the prevention of illness and injury. Practices autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals to treat and manage patient health problems. The role of the Lead APP includes direct patient/family care, consultation, research, patient/families/ group/community advocacy to holistically care for complex patient care needs. Serves as a member of the critical care and/or acute care team with the primary responsibility of managing a caseload of critical care and/or acute care patients under the supervision of a physician. In addition to providing care outlined, the Lead APP will have direct oversight for assigned APP team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Nurse.
- Master's Degree as a Physician Assistant by the National Board of Medical Examiners, or, the Academy of Physician's Assistants.
- Two (2) or more years job related experience as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or as a Physician Assistant.
- Current Georgia Authorization/Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse OR Physician's Assistant.
- Specialized in critical care services for an in-patient setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
