Grady Health System is seeking a passionate and innovative AI/ML Engineer to join our growing data science team. This is a unique opportunity to apply cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to improve patient outcomes, streamline operations, and support one of the largest public health systems in the U.S.

As an AI/ML Engineer at Grady, you’ll help shape the future of healthcare by building intelligent systems that drive real-world impact—from predictive analytics in emergency care to optimizing clinical workflows and enhancing population health initiatives.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with clinical, operational, and technical teams to identify opportunities for AI/ML solutions that address key healthcare challenges.
  • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models using frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Clean, preprocess, and transform large healthcare datasets to ensure quality and relevance.
  • Select and apply appropriate ML techniques (e.g., supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning) based on project needs.
  • Optimize models for performance, scalability, and accuracy in real-world healthcare environments.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate models into Grady’s systems and applications.
  • Stay current with emerging AI/ML technologies and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Deploy and manage models in AWS and Azure cloud environments.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and ensure robust model monitoring and governance.

 

What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML development, or related technical roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with other languages/tools (e.g., R, SQL, SAS, JavaScript).
  • Deep understanding of ML algorithms (e.g., decision trees, SVMs, deep learning).
  • Experience with statistical modeling, data mining, and scientific experimentation.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with BI tools like Power BI and Tableau.

Preferred:

  • Strong ability to teach and communicate machine learning model methodologies and findings
