Boiler Operator
Location: Atlanta, GA
Job Type: Full-time
Shift/Schedule: Variable (day, evening, night, and weekend shifts)
JOB SUMMARY: The Boiler Operator ensures the power plant is providing utilities efficiently and effectively for normal hospital operations.
- Perform predictive, preventative, and emergency maintenance and repairs on all operating systems and their support auxiliaries.
- Maintain legal records for biocide and equipment usage (oxygen, chemical, and fuel oil inventories).
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Associate degree (Technical Diploma) or 2 years of college coursework in Boiler Operations or Stationary Engineering is required.
- At least two years of job-related experience in the commercial industry is required.
- Healthcare experience is preferred.
- Experience in boiler plants and water tube boilers is preferred.
- Valid Georgia Driver's License.
- Adheres to all NFPA and Life Safety measures OSHA guidelines.
- Must possess knowledge of all equipment related to steam plant technology.
- Must have the ability to work with and resolve dangerous high-risk situations that require adherence to safety policies, procedures, and practices.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule due to a 24-hour operation of the area (Steam Plant).
- Power Engineer License preferred.
- Maintain boiler operator's license preferred.
