Job Summary

The Data Warehouse Developer manages the SQL Server database used by the Pharmacy Department, but will also interface with other data sources, databases, and systems (many of which may not be SQL Server). Designs and codes, provides production support, monitors, and maintains various processes and production jobs. Maintains, creates, and executes CCLs against the PharmNet database for data extraction and report-generating results. Responsible for programmatic creation, oversight, guidance, and maintenance for Access Database systems, as well as providing assistance to departmental users in assessing information and resourcing data. 

Job Responsibilities

• Creates, modifies, and executes various SQL's against the rx30 and EPIC databases. 
• Prepares reports from databases to support various departmental operations, and ensures scheduled reports are prepared in a timely manner. 
• Extracts data to prepare monthly reports of workload, departmental finances, and statistical data. 
• Maintains updated pharmacy pricing to include quarterly price updates. 
• Develops and designs new databases to support departmental needs, and ensures databases are updated accurately and regularly. 
• Maintains and executes a Visual Basic application that generates both imports and reports. 
• Maintains multiple databases to support clinical and financial operations for the Department of Pharmacy. 
• Develops and maintains a data warehouse for maintaining source data for future use and analysis. 

Job Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's Degree is required. Comprehensive and diverse industry experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. 
• A minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience developing using VB 6.0 and knowledge of .NET, which includes ADO, COM, and Classes is required. 
• 3 years of database management experience with relational databases is required. 
• SQL Server and/or Oracle experience, which includes DBA, T-SQL, DTS, Stored Procedures, Triggers, transactions, Error Handling, Security, and maintaining database integrity is strongly preferred. 
• Must be proficient with enterprise Manager and SQL Query Analyzer. 
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Windows NT/ 2000/ XP Platforms. 
• Demonstrated expertise with Access, Excel, SQL Server, and/or Oracle and using tools to provide reports from relational databases. 
• Knowledge of computer operations and programming languages, and programming of Access, SQLServer, and/or Oracle is required. 
• Must have the ability to: analyze informational requirements and needs, identify problems, provide technical advice/consultation, and ensure efficient computer systems utilization, analyze data and develop logical solutions for problems, de-bug existing code. 
• Must have the ability to work cooperatively with departmental system users and end users to maintain efficient systems utilization and monitor system utilization and recommend appropriate revisions to processes, procedures, and operations. 
• Must have the ability to develop project plans and self-manage projects with minimal supervision. Must be reliable and devoted to completing assigned projects on schedule. Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time, manage multiple tasks, and work independently as well as in a team environment.
