Position Overview:
Grady Health System's Office of Health Equity is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to lead the Teen Experience and Leadership Program (TELP). TELP is designed to introduce high school students aged 14-19 to various healthcare professions through direct exposure and mentorship. The Director will oversee all aspects of the program, ensuring it meets its mission to enhance community partnerships, provide healthcare exposure, teach leadership skills, develop a healthcare workforce pipeline, and offer employees opportunities for community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership:
    Develop, implement, and evaluate TELP initiatives that align with Grady Health System's strategic objectives and the Office of Health Equity's mission.
  • Staff Management:
    Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor program staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Participant Engagement:
    Oversee the recruitment, selection, and orientation of teen participants, ensuring a diverse and inclusive cohort.
  • Curriculum Development:
    Design and update program curricula that provide participants with exposure to various health occupations, leadership development, and community service opportunities.
  • Partnership Development:
    Establish and maintain relationships with internal departments, educational institutions, and community organizations to support program goals and participant experiences.
  • Budget Management:
    Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Evaluation and Reporting:
    Implement assessment tools (i.e., YouScience) to measure program effectiveness, prepare reports for stakeholders, and utilize feedback for continuous improvement. 
  • Job Requirements
    • Minimum of 3-5 years in youth program management, preferably within a healthcare or nonprofit setting.
    • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing youth development programs, with a focus on leadership and career exploration.
    • Proven ability to manage staff and volunteers effectively.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
    • Ability to build and maintain partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Financial acumen related to budget development and oversight.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Familiarity with the Atlanta community and local healthcare landscape.
