Summary

The Neurodiagnostic Technologist Trainer provides continuous multi-modality monitoring and educational training in our Neurological Intensive Care and Progressive Care Units.

This position performs and analyzes continuous monitoring as part of the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of patients with epilepsy and other neurological conditions.

The position also serves as lead technologist and instructor for neurodiagnostic activities and provides support and guidance to other team members, to include the development, evaluation and mentoring of less experienced colleagues.

  1. Provides quality patient-centered neurodiagnostic testing in lab and patient units
  1. Develops, reviews and revises curriculum/course materials and assesses technical compentencies of staff.
  1. Performs routine and complex Neurodiagnostic studies; including Awake, Asleep, Electroencephalogram (EEG) Bedside, Electrocerebral Silence, Long Term Monitoring Recording, Sphenoidal Recording, Carotid Endarterctomy Recording, Evoked Potential Recordings and Somatosensory Recordings.
  1. Identifies and documenting abnormal sleep, respiratory and cardiac patterns; administer oxygen, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and bi-level PAP for physician interpretation.
  1. Assists with research and patient care activities
  1. Prepares all classifications of patients for EEG/Electromyogram (EMG) and Long Term Monitoring (LTM) for testing. Ensures high quality recording and interpretation of neurodiagnostic testing.
  1. Supports the training and monitoring of END technicians; cross train junior technicial
  1. Provides team-based coaching and assists other technologists in preparation for registry or certification credentials
  1. Shift : 10am-630pm and 1 week of on call in rotation.
Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technology from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited END program.
  • Must be registered by the American Board of Registration of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) in EEG (R. EEGT) and an additional modality registration (EP, CLTM, CNIM, or EMG from ABRET.
  • Basic Life Suppoprt (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association 
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Five (5) years  Clinical Neurodiagnostic experience. Preferred: EEG and EMG modality
