We are looking to add a part-time, night shift Order Organizer Specialist to our talented HUB team!

Overview

The Order Organizer (O2) Specialist coordinates organization-wide prioritization and scheduling of service area procedures and diagnostic tests. Order Organizer (O2) Specialist is located in the HUB (Clinical Care Coordination Center), which has a system wide view of the hospital, including 24/7 central coordination of patient admission, placement, transportation, service department testing and procedures. The Order Organizer (O2) Specialist will be required to utilize their extensive healthcare knowledge in assessing, prioritizing, and coordinating multiple tests for ED and inpatients in the health system to ensure optimal patient flow and reduce discharge delays.

Job Duties

•  Coordinates hospital-wide prioritization and scheduling of Service Area procedures/tests.
•  Balances the patient’s Itinerary and clinical requirements with Service Area orders and availability of resources. 
•  Centrally prioritizes inpatient services demand, collaborating with the HUB Order Organizers and Unit RN’s.
•  Works cooperatively with the HUB O2, HUB C3’s, and Unit Nursing.
•  Manages daily work queue for Service Areas; adjusts service request priorities and escalates issues as appropriate to leadership.
•  Collaboratively manages the transport requirements with service areas and various transport resources.
•  Assists with patient preparedness by entering/monitoring/communicating pre-procedure requirements (PPRs).
•  Develops and maintains skillful knowledge of specific service area management policies, requirements, and preferences. 
•  Other duties as assigned.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in patient access, scheduling, care coordination, transition of care, or directly related experience in a health care environment required.
