SUMMARY
The Patient Safety Manager, reports to Executive Director Infection Prevention, provides management of initiatives and programs that proactively promotes patient safety and the Joint Commission accreditation process. This position is responsible and accountable for planning, organizing and managing activities and programs related to processes that impact the safe delivery of care. In addition to the management of patient safety initiatives, the Patient Safety Manager also leads and directs the Joint Commission survey readiness and accreditation process for the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business or related field Preferred
- Five (5) or more years’ clinical experience including quality improvement programs
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse or must obtain Georgia nursing license within 6 months of hire
- Knowledge of sentinel/serious event principles and issues relating to patient safety
- Superior organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills
- Must possess strong leadership qualities to include task completion and motivation and an effective change agent
- Demonstrates experience with data collection, data analysis and data reporting
- Direct experience with managing performance improvement teams and workgroups
