The Payroll Manager reports directly to the Payroll Director and is responsible for ensuring the full-cycle payroll processing tasks and activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner, and enforces the usage of internal controls and separation of duties.  Organizes daily department operations and manages and resolves issues related to payroll production.  The Payroll Manager must be dedicated, highly confidential, and committed to accuracy in all transactions.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other business discipline required
  • Minimum of seven years of healthcare payroll related experience

  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management position

  • Five or more years of experience with PeopleSoft HCM or compatible ERP application work experience

  • General accounting background

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred

  • Knowledge of Payroll practices

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, to include

  • hands-on experience with Excel

  • Experience with Kronos Time and Attendance System

  • Knowledge of Wage and Hour Guidelines and healthcare pay practices

  • Strong organizational and time management skills are needed to manage multiple, concurrent requests and tasks while meeting strict deadlines

  • Must be a self-starter and team player
