Pharmacy Intern- Ambulatory/Outpatient- every other weekend
Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Intern, under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, will gain practical, hands-on experience within a nationally recognized health system to improve the health of Atlanta’s community through pharmacy services.
Job Responsibilities:
• Provides consulting services to Grady Health System patients regarding safe and effective use of medications, medication interactions, and medication side effects
• Provides preventative healthcare services such as vaccines and immunizations, diabetes management, etc.
• Ensures proper packaging and dispensing of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines and health system policies and procedures
• Maintains knowledge of up-to-date clinical practice guidelines to enhance patient safety and pharmacy operations
• Maintains knowledge of controlled substance prescription filling and dispensing policies as directed by state and federal law
• Collaborates with nationally recognized providers to develop strong clinical relationships to facilitate and enhance patient care
• Assists with pharmacy operations such as inventory management, workflow, and day to day pharmacy administration
Education:
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school program.
Skills/Certifications/Licenses:
Intern pharmacist license (Georgia)
