SUMMARY
Practices as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) within the scope of care defined in the Georgia Physical Therapy Act. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the PTA will be responsible for carrying out a comprehensive program of physical therapy for patients/residents; for providing individual/group treatments, for participating in patient and interdisciplinary conferences; for assisting other staff in the efficient operation of the Rehab Therapy Department; for maintaining timely and effective communication with the Physical Therapist; for accurate documentation in the medical record; assuring a continuum of care within a hospital, ambulatory clinic, long term care facility and /or community based environment. Maintains confidentiality in addressing matters pertaining to residents, care and services and human resources.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Gradaute of a Physical Therapy Assistant program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Education of the American Physical Therapy Association required.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia required
- AHA CPR Certification required
