There are multiple openings for Days/Nights/Weekends. Currently Day shift acute care and weekend nights. 12 hour shifts 7a-7p and 7p-7a.
The Registered Nurse Float is responsible for providing age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, educating patients and their families about healthy practices and treatment modalities, assuring continuity of care, coordinating the care across settings and among caregivers, managing information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The Registered Nurse Float utilizes the nursing process, which includes the components of assessment, nurse diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning and coordination, implementation, and evaluation. The role of the Registered Nurse Float also includes patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, leadership and professional development. As a member of the health care team, Registered Nurse Float demonstrates nursing expertise, as a clinician, leader, collaborator and innovator of care and services.
SKILLS/CERT/LICENSES:
Required:
Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse.
Staff must float to a variety of units including Med/Surg, Orthopedics, Oncology, Telemetry, ICU and more based on credentials.
ICU and Stepdown Units:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
ACLS Certification required for the following areas: All Critical Care, Emergency Care Center (ECC), GI/Cath Laboratory, Labor & Delivery, All Intermediate Care units, Post-Acute Care Unit (PACU)
PALS required for the ED/ECC
NIHSS required for Neuroscience Units
NIHSS required for 4A Mother Baby unit
Medical-Surgical units:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
EDUCATION:
Associate Degree in Nursing.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
One (1) or more years of experience for Med-Surgical.
Two (2) or more years of experience for ICU, and Stepdown units.
