The Perinatal Center Non-Stress Testing Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, monitoring, and care of pregnant patients undergoing fetal surveillance in the form of non-stress testing. This nurse collaborates with the obstetric care team to ensure safe, high-quality care while maintaining a calm and supportive environment for expectant mothers.
- Perform and interpret Non-Stress Tests (NST) to evaluate fetal well-being.
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, documenting findings accurately and timely.
- Assess fetal movement, heart rate patterns, and uterine activity, escalating abnormal findings to the provider.
- Educate patients and families on NST procedures and results.
- Maintain and troubleshoot fetal monitoring equipment.
- Assist with additional antepartum testing or care as needed.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during testing.
- Document all care provided in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Uphold patient privacy and confidentiality in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
- One (1) or more years Registered Nurse job related experience required.
- Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Labor/Delivery experience preferred.
- ACLS Certification required for all the following areas. New Graduates must obtain within 90 days of employment:
§ All Critical Care
§ Emergency Care Center (ECC)
§ GI/Cath Laboratory
§ Labor & Delivery
§ All Intermediate Care
§ Post Acute Care Unit (PACU)
