SUMMARY

Sign-on Bonus: $15,000 with 2 years of nursing experience

 

The Neonatal ICU Nurse (RN), provides comprehensive care for Premature and high-risk babies, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintains a safe environment, educates patients and their families about healthy practices and treatment modalities, assures continuity of care, coordinates care across settings and among caregivers, manages information, communicates effectively, and utilizes technology. Utilizes the nursing process to provide and plan care (i.e. assessment, nurse diagnosis, planning and coordination, implementation, and evaluation).  Additional roles include advocacy, performance improvement, leadership, problem solving, delegation, conflict resolution, and team player.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Evaluate and oversee patients in the NICU and report to Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and supervisors any changes in condition
  • Maintain and calibrate NICU equipment for patient safety and support
  • Administer medications as prescribed by NICU physicians, neonatal nurse practitioners, and residents.
  • Connect intravenous lines to administer medications
  • Communicate with parents/guardians the plan of care and scope of treatment
  • Obtain and evaluate test results
  • Consult with physicians/treatment team on plan of care, progress and prognosis
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing is required
  • A Bachelors of Science in Nursing is strongly preferred
  • One (1) or more years’ experience as a Registered Nurse required
  • One (1) or more year's experience in a high volume NICU preferred
  • Specific area of specialty previous experience preferred
  • Current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse required
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) health care provider card required
  • Current STABLE certification preferred
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)/ or obtained within 3 months of hire preferred
  • Working knowledge of all NICU equipment (e.g. incubator, ventilator, etc.) preferred
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Relocation:  5,000 Lump sum Allowance
Sign-on Bonus: $20,000 with 2 years of nursing experience
