Surgical Support Technician - Labor/Delivery - FT Days
SUMMARY
The Surgical Support Technician (SST) serves as a nurse extender (Family Birth Center) through the provision of care across the continuum to provide optimal safety and partnering with physicians, and staff by accessing patients for transports, providing on hand clinical transports, maintains safety with clinical equipment, supplies, and positioning and lifting for patients in the Family Birth Center clinical settings including specialty devices for safety and optimal clinical outcomes and metric goals. Assists in core supply areas, Family Birth Center turnovers, and promotes a clean sanitary, orderly Perioperative environments. Ensures safe delivery of pathology specimens. Performs regulatory compliance audits under the direction of CSM's and Directors of Family Birth Center. The SST reports to charge nurses, CSM's, and Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification prior to employment or within one month of employment.
