Virtual APP with Inbasket management

SUMMARY  

Advanced Practice Provider (APP) who will work virtually 4 days/week with 1 day of in-person clinic work for a 5-day work week.  The APP is responsible for providing clinical evaluations and assessments, initiating diagnostic and treatment plans and educating patients presenting for care.

During the time spent in the remote capacity, the APP will spend part of the day working with the Video on Demand (VoD) team. The APP will be providing care for patients virtually. The other part of the day, the APP will be working closely with their assigned clinic to help with inbasket management work. The APP will work as part of a team covering indirect work within clinicians’ inbasket folders including but not limited to patient messages, telephone calls, and urgent refills. Telephone calls can range from routine to emergent and may require prescription writing, lab or radiology ordering and interaction with PCP or covering MD as needed for clinical support.

Telephone calls and patient messages that require a new prescription should be converted to a VoD visit. The APP will subsequently place orders for radiology tests, labs tests, vaccines, referrals and refills as the APP feels appropriate.

The APP will review inbaskets of all clinicians on site for inbasket folders as time allows or as directed after supporting the clinicians who are off or on vacation.

Skills:

Minimum of 3 years direct Adult/Family Medicine experience required and ambulatory experience is preferred. Strong triaging skills required.

Demonstrated competency in providing comprehensive health care including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment

Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements

Excellent clear verbal communication skills and proficient writing skills required.

Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and EPIC. Strong computer skills required.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Current Georgia Authorization/Certification as a NP Advanced Practice Registered Professional Nurse or Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant Program  

Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
