PSY MAT (OPIOID) Program
SUMMARY
The CARES Certified Peer Specialist (CARES-CPS) works with people who experience serious mental illness and acts as a role model of recovery. CARES-CPS provides group and/or individual training and counseling, as well as service coordination, support for community linkage, and advocacy support to meet individual needs. Assists with completion of Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP). May work in a clinic, peer program, or community setting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Bachelor’s preferred
- CARES Certification as Peer Specialist through the Georgia DBHDD/Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network required
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider Card required
