Hospital Based Peer Recovery
SUMMARY
The Certified Peer Specialist - Addictive Disease (CPS - AD) works with people who experience serious mental illness and acts as a role model of recovery. CPS-AD provides group and/or individual training and counseling, as well as service coordination, support for community linkage, and advocacy support to meet individual needs. Assists with completion of Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP). May work in a clinic, peer program, or community setting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Bachelor’s preferred
- Certification as Peer Specialist with Addictive Disease through the Georgia DBHDD/Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network required
- Certification with American Heart Association for Basic Life Support (BLS) required
