SUMMARY

The Director for the Free-Standing Emergency Department reports directly to the Vice President of Emergency Services and provides leadership and management oversight for the Free-Standing Emergency Department. This role fosters positive relationships and engages professionally with patients, families, visitors, and team members to reinforce and advance the positive public perception of Grady Health System.

The Director for the Free-Standing Emergency Department actively contributes to performance and quality improvement initiatives within assigned departments, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. They are responsible for developing comprehensive, realistic short- and long-term plans that integrate industry trends, financial considerations, and operational timelines, while coordinating planning efforts across service lines.

Collaboration is central to this position, requiring close partnership with operational VPs, AVPs, Directors, team members, and both internal and external stakeholders across all locations. Through these partnerships, the Director of the Free-Standing Emergency Department supports Grady Health System’s mission to enhance patient health and well-being.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s Degree
• Eight (8) or more years of job-related
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  Basic Life Support (BLS)    
  Registered Nurse in State of Georgia
