SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, prepares, packages, and distributes medications and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Assist patients at point-of-sale
- Collect money, provide patient with a receipt, and prepare daily cash deposits consistently.
- Assist in maintaining refrigerator logs.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the prescription pharmacy in an organized manner.
- Report and/or forward operational issues to leadership and use reporting utilities appropriately to expedite resolutions.
- When appropriate, review physicians' orders and transcribe required information into patients' computerized drug profiles.
- Inventory control and order medications, based on PAR levels.
- Ensure medications are in date by performing monthly inspections of assigned areas.
- Return to Stock medication to patients’ profile when appropriate.
- Greet customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Utilize AIDET at all times.
- Answer telephone with appropriate greeting and efficiency.
- Assemble patients' medications for the pharmacist to check.
- Assist leadership in the implementation of workflows, process improvement initiatives and organizational directives.
- Float to other pharmacies, as needed, as determined by leadership.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program (Preferred)
1 year experience as a Pharmacy Technician
2 or more years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician (Preferred)
Must be a registered Pharmacy Technician or a Pharmacist Intern licensed with the State of Georgia Board of Pharmacy.
PTCB certification preferred.
